The first Aegidius Run took place in 2007 on the southern shore of Lake Masch with a circuit route through the Masch. Since 2014, the charity run has found a new home at the old horse racing track and the adjacent Eilenriede behind the Aegidius House AUF DER BULT. The run is organized by the Lions Club Hannover Aegidius to raise funds for the construction and operation of the Aegidius House for children and young people with severe disabilities. Under the motto "Do good and run with us!" the focus is not on achieving the best time, but on participation. A large cake buffet provided by the volunteers is one of the highlights every year.
