Nellschützer Silvesterlauf

The Nellschützer New Year's Eve Run is a traditional 10 km road race in Lützen, Saxony-Anhalt, taking place on the morning of December 31st. Since 2000, it has been a fixed part of the local running calendar and offers a communal year-end for runners in the Burgenlandkreis. The race starts near the church in Nellschütz and is officially organized within the German athletics framework, including insurance and scheduling. Characterized by a relaxed running style, participants often run in small groups and chat rather than aiming for personal best times. After the race, participants are traditionally served warm food, tea, and mulled wine on the farm of the Kitze family.
