Holzgerlinger Lauf - Waldtrail

The Holzgerlinger Lauf - Waldtrail takes place in 2026 for its 41st edition and is part of the Schönbuch Cup as the third scoring race. The course runs in two laps over tartan track, asphalt, and forest ground through the beautiful Holzgerlinger forest. The first half is mostly flat, while the second half is hilly with a final ascent accompanied by drum sounds. Overall, runners pass through the filled stadium three times, where spectators cheer with music – at the start, after the first 5 km lap, and at the finish line.

The race offers 5 km and 10 km courses with elevation profile. On June 6, 2026, a taster run without registration will take place. The course is well paved and mainly through the forest. In 2024, the event was listed among the top 100 best running events by the Württemberg Athletics Association (WLV). The event also includes a taster run for newcomers, team and pair competitions, and an after-race party.
