The County Run connects the three historically significant towns of Rietberg, Verl, and Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, bringing the history of the County of Rietberg to life. The 28 km route leads from the Rietberg estate through the town center of Rietberg, through picturesque landscapes, and along the nature reserve Steinhorster Becken to the hunting lodge in Holte, where runners can celebrate their finish. In addition to the individual race, a relay team event and a 10 km run are also offered, and since 2022, there have been children's races for the youngest participants.
