Race description
The Braunsteichlauf Weißwasser is a traditional race at the end of the running season, passing through the Braunsteich landscape conservation area. Notably, it features crossing the Braunsteich on the wooden Braunsteich Bridge, offering a picturesque view over the water. The event is open to all age groups from children to seniors who enjoy running and walking. The race is part of the Dresden District Ranking and the Niederlausitz Cup and is officially recognized by the German Athletics Association in the walking category.

Additional information
The 5 km and 10 km routes include three short sections on public roads with low traffic as they are residential dead-end streets. The rest of the course runs over moderate, partly cross-country forest paths. The race is open to all age groups and walking is officially recognized. Participant limit of 300-500, medals for finishers, registration on-site or online, free showers and changing rooms available, integrated into regional athletics.
