55. Volkslauf Rund um Wellen

The 55th Volkslauf Rund um Wellen will take place on August 2, 2026, in Beverstedt-Wellen and is one of Germany's oldest marathon races with a family-friendly character. The event offers challenging courses across four distances, including marathon, half marathon, 11 km, and 5 km, some of which are measured by the German Athletics Association (DLV). The route passes through varied landscapes with forest paths and different surfaces. The event is organized by TSV Wellen and relies on the support of many volunteers from the village.

Registrations on-site are possible up to 30 minutes before the respective start with an additional fee of 3 euros (except for children's runs). Handwritten commemorative certificates are available for an extra 3 euros. Changing rooms and showers are available at the start and finish areas. For travelers, overnight accommodation in the sports hall is possible upon registration. Medical services are provided by the German Red Cross. Course supervision is carried out by the volunteer fire brigade Wellen and helpers from TSV Wellen. Walkers are welcome on 5 km, 11 km, and half marathon distances but without separate rankings. Multiple race distances, family-friendly, community event, in a small village community with support from the local volunteer fire brigade.
