Race description
The Dresden Marathon has been held regularly since 1999 at the end of October and offers a flat, fast course through the Saxon state capital with its famous sights. The route passes through the historic Old Town with the Brühlsche Terrasse, the Semper Opera, and other Baroque buildings, as well as through the lively Neustadt. Over 300 musicians and numerous bands create a special atmosphere along the course. The second half of the marathon leads through the district of Blasewitz with views of the castles on the Loschwitz Elbe hillside and the villas along Goetheallee, before returning along the Elbe to the Old Town.

Additional information
Over 300 musicians and numerous bands create a lively atmosphere along the course. There is a marathon expo, race bib distribution, and a SPARKASSEN pacemaker service. After the race, medals can be engraved, and services such as photo service, showers, changing rooms, toilets, and award ceremonies are available. The evening before, a jubilee party takes place in a festival tent behind the Heinz-Steyer Stadium (entry €25, limited participants).
