Race description
The 13th Himmelswegelauf on June 13, 2026, takes participants through a unique cultural landscape around Nebra (Unstrut). The running routes connect significant archaeological sites such as the Pömmelte ring sanctuary, the Goseck solar observatory, and the site of the Nebra sky disk. The start and finish are at the Arche Nebra visitor center, close to the sky disk, which is considered the oldest concrete depiction of the cosmos. In addition to the marathon, half marathon, and the 10 km sky disk run, there are also walking, cycling tours, and hikes to the site. The event is under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Saxony-Anhalt and offers a culturally and sportingly appealing experience.
