On Saturday, September 13, 2025, the premiere of the new Jan Schüpp – Wittmund Citizen Run will take place. The start will be at the stadium on Breslauer Straße in Wittmund, instead of the previous vocational schools. The program includes several races: a 1.2 km youth race for age groups U10 to U18, a 0.4 km children's race for kids born between 2018 and 2021, a 5 km citizen run for participants aged U16 and older, and a 10 km citizen run for U18 and older. There is no entry fee for the youth and children's races, while an entry fee of €8.00 and €10.00 is charged for the citizen runs.
