The Wiedenbrück Christkindl Run takes place on a circular course around the Christkindl Market through the romantically and festively illuminated old town of Wiedenbrück. Due to road construction, the route will be slightly altered this year, and five laps will be run around the Christkindl Market, with the start and finish on Langen Straße in Wiedenbrück. The course length is approximately 10.2 km and is not officially measured. Participants are asked to run as far to the right as possible on the narrow course and not to form groups, as wearing headphones is not permitted.
Highlights
- The running direction is clockwise, and the track is very narrow in many sections, making overtaking likely from the second lap onwards.
- Wearing headphones or earphones is not allowed during the Christkindllauf and will result in disqualification if ignored, in order to ensure the safety of the participants.
- In the finish area of the course, some finishers were given participant medals from previous years, as the number of new medals was insufficient due to delivery damages.
