The "Volkslauf around the center of Germany" is a competitive race in the Southern Lower Saxony Cup and Eichsfeld Cup. The running routes are circular courses through the fields and the Krebecker Forest, with short sections leading along public roads. The courses are partly challenging with varying elevations and consist of both paved and unpaved surfaces. On the 5.7 km and 10.7 km running and walking routes, there is one or two refreshment stations along the way.
