The Treiser Volkslauf is taking place for the 33rd time this year and is the 11th race of the Mittelhessen-Cup. It started in 1992 as a village run, where the first two years featured 3 laps (10 km) run in the village. In 1994, the start was moved to the fire station (Weiherstraße), and a large loop was run along the Lumda, up to the sand pit and back again. In 1997, a challenging half marathon was added.
