Race description
The Bottwartal Marathon is a running event set in one of southern Germany's most beautiful landscapes, featuring gentle vineyard slopes, idyllic old towns, and an exhilarating atmosphere along the course. The route offers a loop through the southern and northern Bottwartal with varied sections on paved field paths and through historic town centers. The flat finish in Steinheim invites a strong final sprint. The marathon is open to adult runners aged 18 and over and is part of a diverse running program in Bottwartal.

Monthly free training runs in various pace groups for preparation, summer break runs during the summer holidays, year-end run with 10 km and afterwards punch & mulled wine. Registration for all runs is via the partner Datasport. Late registrations and re-registrations are possible until shortly before the race. Training runs in Steinheim an der Murr with distances of 14 km, 21 km, and 42.2 km, mostly in sunny weather in June.
