Running together and getting children moving healthily. Under this motto, all of Germany will run on June 3, 2026. For the fifth time, the Day of Running will be celebrated on the first Wednesday in June, initiated by German Road Races (GRR) and the German Athletics Association (DLV). All participants run for a good cause: Their donations support Plan International Germany to enable children and young people in sports clubs to grow up healthily. It's not about speed, but rather the joy of movement and community.
Highlights
- Registration for the "Day of Running" is free, and all participants can decide for themselves how many kilometers they want to cover by running or walking.
- On the day of the run, all participants can have young trees planted with their run and support projects that reforest the forest.
- In 2025, the future marathon vice-world champion Amanal Petros was at the start line and ran alongside hobby runners in Nuremberg.
