The traditional Springe-Deister-Marathon near Hannover is a flat race that takes place on a circuit at the foot of the Kleiner Deister. The course is to be completed four times for the marathon and marathon relay, twice for the half marathon, and once for the 10km run. All distances are measured, and the measurement protocol has been approved by the DLV, allowing the results to be included in the rankings. Each kilometer is marked, and the course profile shows a difference of about 35m between the lowest and highest points.
