For the 7th time this year, the Soonwald Nahe Ultra (SoNUT) will take place, traditionally starting in Kirn. On the morning of September 5th, the athletes will start in staggered small groups from the town hall, covering 62 km with 2,100 meters of elevation gain through the beautiful region. The route leads along fascinating rock formations, past castles, through valleys, and over heights with a fantastic view of the Naheland. 65% of the course follows the premium hiking trail "Soonwaldsteig," a varied mid-mountain route featuring solitary valleys, rugged quartzite ridges, and wild forests.
