The New Year's Eve run as a sporting conclusion to the year is now an integral part of the schedule for the residents of Hanover and its guests. On December 31, 2025, various races will take place, including the main race over approximately 5.8 km, as well as children's races over 600 m and 1,500 m. The start times are: children's race (600 m) at 11:15 AM, children's race (1,500 m) at 11:30 AM, main race at 12:00 PM, and walking at 12:10 PM. The start and finish area is located on the north shore of Maschsee.
