On Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM, the starting shot for the 21st Schneekopflauf, the oldest race in the Thuringian Forest, will be fired at the sports field in Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig. Participants can choose between two challenging routes: a traditional 12.7 km course with 450 meters of elevation gain and a 22.5 km course with 890 meters of elevation gain. The route leads from the sports field over the Großer Finsterberg up to the plateau of the Schneekopf and offers an exciting course profile. The Schneekopflauf is known for its athletic challenge and is considered one of the most beautiful mountain races in Germany.
Highlights
