The Schiller Relay Race takes place in Rudolstadt, "Schiller's secret beloved." Starting from the idyllic, over 100-year-old outdoor swimming pool in Heine Park, the seven diverse stages wind around Rudolstadt. The routes trace Schiller's footsteps to the Hain, to the Marienturm, through the Mörlagraben to the Bismarckturm, and over the Schillershöhe. In the delightful month of May, runners can expect not only climbs to the heights around Rudolstadt but also breathtaking views of the Heidecksburg and the former residence city. With distances ranging from 5 to 12 kilometers, there is a suitable challenge for every type of runner.

Highlights

  • The seven stages of the approximately 70-kilometer total distance can be completed by 5 to 7 runners.
  • In the historic outdoor pool, serving as the start and finish point for all stages, the runners are enthusiastically welcomed and cheered on by the relay teams and spectators throughout the day.
  • The rankings are divided into the categories of Men, Women, and Mixed.
