At this year's Rietburg Mountain Run, we had about 130 participants, while around 20 children took part in the Kids' Run. Both events went smoothly, and the feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. The mountain run took place under challenging conditions with temperatures around 30 degrees, which demanded a lot from the runners in the vineyards before the ascent to Rietburg. The winners saw a repeat of last year's results: Lennart Nies (TV Maikammer) won in the men's category, and Simone Raatz (ASC Darmstadt) triumphed in the women's category.
Highlights
- Lennart Nies (TV Maikammer) completed the 8.2 km course in 33:09 minutes, finishing about 19 seconds ahead of the eight-time cup winner Jonas Lehmann.
- Simone Raatz (ASC Darmstadt), the five-time cup winner, reached the finish line in 39:58 minutes, with a lead of 48 seconds over the second-placed Lara Elea Eckhardt.
