Race description
The CURREX Alsterlauf Hamburg is a traditional race event with officially measured, flat, and asphalted loop courses along the Outer Alster and on the Ballindamm. The event offers various distances, including 10 km, 5 km, and youth runs, and is aimed at runners of all ages. The races are traffic-free and safely accompanied by police and marshals. As part of the Alsterlauf, the Hamburg Championships over 10 km road race are also held.

Start and finish of all competitions are at Ballindamm. Cut-off time for the 5 km race is 12:15 PM. Eligibility to participate is based on birth year with a minimum performance of 22:00 minutes for R5K. Functional T-shirt can be ordered online until August 25, 2026, and will only be handed out during the event weekend, no postal shipping. The event is suitable for runners of all levels, with fixed start times and official timing. It offers a great opportunity to experience Hamburg actively and enjoy the Alster up close.
