Palatina Backyard Ultra

The Palatina Backyard Ultra is a unique running competition in Erfweiler, where a 6.7 km loop is started every full hour. Participants run as long as they can until only one runner manages to complete a lap within the hour. The course leads from Belmontplatz through streets, fields, and forest paths with approximately 100 meters of elevation gain, offering a varied landscape. The day before, there is a cozy gathering, and the event is characterized by an open end time and a family-friendly atmosphere.

Start and finish are at Belmontplatz in Erfweiler. Tents, pavilions, or mobile homes/caravans can be set up on limited spaces (first come, first served). A communal tent serves as a refreshment station and for bib distribution, but not as accommodation. Registration is only via email with transfer of the entry fee. The race starts every full hour, and each lap must be completed within 60 minutes. Lighting is mandatory between 8:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Medical services are on site. The event ends when only one runner manages to complete a lap within the hour. The race takes place in and around Erfweiler, starting and ending at Belmontplatz. The course is approximately 6.7 km, focusing on endurance and fun. The weather in September is usually mild around 19°C with a chance of rain.
