Every year, the Nikolauslauf community meets three weeks prior for a joint training session on the original course. The 60-member helper team led by trial run coordinator Susanne Albus was well-prepared. Promptly at 10 a.m., honorary chairman Wolfgang Amann gave the starting signal for the 650 runners, who first completed a warm-up lap on the soccer field before heading out in homogeneous groups onto the well-prepared course. The race followed the slightly modified route from last year, featuring only 297 meters of elevation gain along the Waldorf School.
Highlights
- The event had over 800 participants and no medical incidents.
- The trial run was accompanied by large groups of up to 30 pace runners, who maintained a pace ranging from 90 minutes to 2:30 hours.
- The anniversary edition of the Tübingen itdesign Nikolauslauf has exceeded all expectations: 3,288 finishers set a new finishers record.
