The Mettenheim Avenue Run takes place on an absolutely flat and fast course through Mettenheim and Mettenheim-Hart. The completely asphalted, interesting, and varied route starts on the avenue, runs through the village of Mettenheim, and after a turnaround, nearly parallel to the avenue, goes through the settlement of Mettenheim-Hart and back on the avenue to the well-known finish line. The 5 km loop course offers runners proximity to the spectators, which provides additional motivation, especially in the area of Mettenheim-Hart.
Highlights
- More than one hundred volunteers from LG Mettenheim had been working for weeks, especially on the day of the competition, to ensure that over 600 participants from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine would have the best conditions for the alley run.
- The race showcases a part of the Upper Bavarian "Runner's Village," which almost exactly on May 8, 1983, started its competitive sports journey with six marathon runners at the 1st Olympia City Marathon.
- The event includes various distances, including the 10 km Sparkassen Active Run and the 5 km AOK Fitness Run, as well as children's and youth races.
