On Ascension Day in May, an event with decades of tradition takes place in Osterholz-Scharmbeck: The Sportfreunde Heilshorn 1971 e. V. invites participants to their well-known and popular Ascension Run in Lower Saxony. A half marathon is offered, as well as distances for children and youth of 800 meters and 400 meters. Walkers and runners can choose between three, five, and ten kilometers, while Nordic walkers have a 5-km route available. The Ascension Run attracts around 200 runners and features a perfectly marked course through a varied and slightly hilly landscape.
