On the weekend of October 17th, eight runners from KIT-SC and six runners from LGR Karlsruhe participated in the German Half Marathon Championships in Hamburg, the first major running event of 2021. Under excellent conditions, a total of 1,400 runners started on Sunday at 10:00 AM on the 21.1 km course through the Wandsbek district. The event not only provided a platform for individual personal bests but also for exciting team competitions.
Highlights
- Participants in the Bavarian Championships will start in the 1st starting block, with the results being determined in the order of finish (gun time measurement).
- Together with ideal weather conditions (around 15°C, dry), very good times were achieved at the Baden-Württemberg Half Marathon Championships in Filderstadt-Bernhausen.
- In the active classes, two athletes from the national elite, Jens Mergenthaler and Leah Hanle, won with a comfortable lead.
