The 16th Gibacht Mountain Run took place at 10 a.m. at Bayplatz, where participants started due to construction work. Over a hundred athletes took part in the event, which was held in perfect temperatures. The route led the runners through the town square, past the war memorial and golf course, with a final sprint along the avenue towards the castle. The 49 participants of the 6 km route reached the parking lot at Voithenberg, while the 53 starters of the 10 km route sprinted to the finish after 600 meters of elevation gain at Reiseck.
