Spring awakening in Leverkusen! The sun was almost directly overhead at the Chempark, the venue for the German Championships in the 10-kilometer road race. The local organizer TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen recorded more than 3,500 entries for its running classic. A strong contingent of athletes from the Football and Athletics Association of Westphalia (FLVW) was extremely successful, bringing home 19 medals in both individual and team competitions.
