On July 4, 2026, the largest running event in the Fichtel Mountains will take place again, the Fichtelgebirgsmarathon. Participants can choose between three different courses with varying elevation profiles and lengths: 10 kilometers with 225 meters of elevation gain, the half marathon over 21 kilometers with 400 meters of elevation gain, and the marathon over 42 kilometers with an elevation difference of 800 meters.
