On August 23, the 3rd Eschweiler City Run powered by Autohaus Rudolf Sazma & Decathlon will take place. The Marathon Club Eschweiler is organizing a popular race in Eschweiler for the 40th time, with the start and finish located in the city center, at Marienstraße and Grabenstraße. Two distances are offered for adult runners: 5 kilometers (RAC ranking) and 10 kilometers (RAC ranking), as well as student races. The course is flat, completely paved, and is part of the newly established "Regio Aachen Running Cup."
Highlights
- The Eschweiler City Run experienced an impressive increase last year, with 858 participants compared to 710 the previous year.
- Irene Tosi set a new overall women's course record for 10 kilometers with a time of 36:43 minutes.
- The race is also part of the North Rhine Championships, which attracts high-class athletes and promotes conditions for fast times.
