The Eilenriederennen is an established fun run that takes place through the "green lung" of the state capital of Lower Saxony, Hanover, and is now being held for the 22nd time. The race offers three different distances: 5 km, 10 km, and half marathon (21 km). The course is 100% paved, runs past Steuerndieb to the zoo, and includes a turnaround section to the forest station. The event is organized in cooperation with the Lister Turm community center and features a musical program in the beer garden.
Highlights
- The course is completely flat and officially measured, except for the crossing of the exhibition expressway.
- The half marathon is run on a course with a different turnaround point twice.
- The event takes place in the Eilenriede, one of the largest urban forest areas in Germany.
