The Ebermergen Village Run, organized by TSV Ebermergen, took place in its 34th edition and was won by 15-year-old Luis Rühl from TSV Harburg, making him the youngest winner of the competition. In light rain, 70 endurance athletes tackled the five-kilometer course. Rühl took the lead in the first lap and crossed the finish line in 16:50 minutes. This was his second victory in this traditional competition, which has been held since the mid-1980s.
