The Dodenau Volkslauf is a mass participation event for everyone, taking place on July 13, 2025, in Battenberg (Eder). To be included in a ranking list, membership in an athletics club or a running group is required. Since 2014, the flat cycle path on the former railway line between Dodenau and Hatzfeld has been used, with a highlight of the route being the 325 m long tunnel between Dodenau and Reddighausen. The start and finish are at the festival grounds in front of the Dodenau multipurpose hall, directly by the Eder River, and the event includes distances of 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, and half marathon (21 km).
