On Saturday, September 13, 2025, the premiere of the new Jan Schüpp – Wittmund Citizen's Run will take place. The starting point is at the stadium on Breslauer Straße in Wittmund, instead of the previous vocational schools. The program includes various races: a 1.2 km youth run for age groups U10 to U18, a 0.4 km children's run for the years 2018-2021, a 5 km citizen's run for participants aged U16 and older, and a 10 km citizen's run for U18 and older. The event is organized by MTV Wittmund and replaces the Klinkerlauf, which has been held for over 20 years.
