The Bienwald Marathon Kandel is considered one of the fastest marathons in Germany and offers both a marathon distance of 42.195 km and a half marathon of 21.098 km. Due to the perfectly flat topography, participants can run quickly and evenly. This spring classic has been held since 1976 and is thus entering its 51st edition. The course is known for its abundant refreshments, provided every 5 km as well as in the Runners Heaven at the finish line.
