On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the 3rd "Bergklosterlauf" will start in the Sauerland at 10:30 AM. The distances are 6, 10, and 21 kilometers (half marathon distance) and lead past idyllic streams, over ridges to magnificent viewpoints, and through smaller settlements with hopefully cheering spectators, ending at the Bergkloster Bestwig. Walkers are also welcome on the 10-kilometer route, and starting at 12 PM, the children's and youth races will begin, which are simultaneously scoring races for the Volksbank Sauerland Laufcup of LAC Veltins Hochsauerland.
Highlights
- The Mountain Monastery Run is organized in cooperation between the facilities of the Mountain Monastery and TuS Velmede-Bestwig.
- The supporting program includes music, free massages, childcare for "running parents," as well as an extensive catering offering.
- There are children's races starting from 700 meters and youth races, in addition to the adult races over 10 kilometers.
