The Bad Windsheim Wine Tower Run has developed into one of the most significant sports events in the district since its inception in 2001. Every year at the end of March, up to 1,200 athletes from the region and beyond gather to compete on the running courses in Bavaria's largest listed spa park and around the historic Wine Tower. Whether in the school and youth run over 1.9 km, the hobby run over 5.7 km, the walking event over 5.7 km, the 10 km run, or the half marathon – there is something suitable for every runner. Every step taken by all participants is for a good cause, with the proceeds from the event benefiting social projects for children and teenagers in the region.
