The Bad Hersfeld Lollslauf is the kickoff to the oldest German folk festival, the Lullusfest, and takes place annually in early October in Bad Hersfeld. The running route leads from Linggplatz through the Peter Gate into the Fuldatal, past sports fields and through the spa park, before the runners return to the city center. While the half marathon runners complete the loop twice, the 5-km runners only cover part of the route and return earlier. The entire course is continuously asphalted or paved.
