The half marathon route of the Bad Buchau city run takes place in the largest nature reserve in Southwest Germany around Lake Federsee. After the start on the marketplace, participants run two small laps through the town center of Bad Buchau and the spa park, followed by a circuit around Lake Federsee amidst stunning nature. The finish includes another small lap through Bad Buchau. The course is mostly flat with an elevation difference of about 35 meters and partially runs on a 2.5-meter-wide wooden boardwalk through a pristine protected forest.
