Altra Sunset Wattenmeer

The Altra Sunset Wadden Sea is a unique team relay race taking place on August 29 and 30, 2026. The course covers approximately 250 kilometers through the stunning natural landscape along the Elbe River and the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site Wadden Sea National Park. The race starts in Hamburg at St. Pauli Hafenstraße and finishes in St. Peter-Ording in the Bad district. Teams consist of 5 or 10 runners, each taking on multiple segments, making the race a special community experience.

The start times of the teams will be assigned after registration closes based on the reported average pace. The digital map material will be provided to the teams a few weeks before the event. Team vehicles must be organized independently (10-person teams require 2 vans, 5-person teams 1 van). Participants born from 2010 onwards are eligible, for ultra teams from 2008. There are team categories by gender and mixed teams. Registration is managed by a team captain who oversees team members. The race includes 30 stages, night and day runs, navigation with map material, starting in Hamburg and ending in St. Peter-Ording. Participation is open to teams from multiple countries, with variable weather and sporting challenge.
