Since 1991, the ultramarathon has attracted hundreds of runners to Schwäbisch Gmünd every year in golden October. Over 50 kilometers and 1100 meters of elevation gain, the route ascends the Three Kaiser Mountains: Hohenstaufen, Rechberg, and Stufen. On Saturday, October 26, 2024, the 34th Sparkassen Alb Marathon will take place, offering race distances from five to 50 kilometers, including a popular AOK children's race for the little ones. All participants who reach the finish line will receive a medal, and there are a total of five refreshment stations along the route.
Highlights
- Welcome to the 50-km race with medal, which takes you over the three Kaiser Mountains: Hohenstaufen, Rechberg, and Stufen.
- All teams that finish will receive a trophy at the competition center at 3:30 PM.
- There will be a total of five aid stations where water, tea, soft drinks, pretzels, and bananas will be offered.
