The Ahruferlauf is one of the most traditional fun runs in the Ahr Valley, which first took place in 1973. After a pandemic-related interruption in 2021 and a detour into the vineyards in 2022, the run has been held again along the Ahr since 2023. The event will take place on March 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM, starting at the train station in Mayschoß and finishing at Ahrtor in Ahrweiler. The route of approximately 12 km consists of 80% paved forest and agricultural paths and 20% asphalt, and there is no entry fee or pre-registration required.

Highlights

  • The run is completed without timing and has no primary competitive aspect, making it a relaxed event for all participants.
  • All female participants will receive roses in recognition of their participation.
  • The route features varied elevation profiles with an ascent to Saffenburg and challenging trails that wind through picturesque landscapes.
